Janka Takeva: When you are a good person, you meet the same everywhere
The chairman of the syndicate of Bulgarian teachers - Janka Takeva, born in the beautiful little village Kovachevci, speaks with proud and passion for her family roots. Achieved a complete harmony in her life, she continues to win successes on a professional and personal level as well. Smiling, positive, good-orientated and exquisitely gentle, Mrs. Takeva never stops taking care of the future of Bulgarian children…
Good afternoon, Mrs. Takeva! It is a great pleasure to me to interview you! Tell me something more about your family.
I and my elder brother and sister grew up in one very warm family surrounding. My parents were extremely careful and enterprising people. My father was an amazing tradesman and my mother- a very helpful woman, who unfortunately died too young.
How did your professional career start?
The fate was very good towards me and after I graduated from high school, I directed myself to the social field, I became a teacher. After that I got a diploma on the specialty “higher pedagogy”, later I became a magister at “Management of human resources”. I had two more specializations in UNWE, I am an owner of various qualifications, awards and medals. I also work for Moscow as a royalty- based lecturer in the department of “Social politics”. I have over 100 publications, devoted to the social problems. I am also a member of different organizations and I am a chairman of the Syndicate of Bulgarian teachers.
Is there any difference between the common and the syndic policy? The difference between the two policies is that the syndic is based on the principle of the good will – everybody has a right to choose. Due to this fact in the pedagogy, and in life too the convincement as a method is the hardest one.
As it became clear, your activity is broad spectrum and very responsible. How do you manage with everything?
As I already mentioned once, the fate is very good towards me, but in the base of everything it is always the good family. Ekzupery has said that the career of one woman is built, if she succeeds to achieve a good education, make a good family, brings up good children and manages to keep the family together. Up to this moment I have already achieved those four things, I even have felt the joy from having my grand sons and grand daughters. Therefore I am deeply convinced that when somebody is doing good things, he meets good things as well.
In your quality of chairman of the syndicate of Bulgarian teachers, what qualities do you think that the good teacher should possess?
The most important is that he is a good man on the first place!
Very soon is the start of the new school year. Are there some new things that should be expected by the parents and by the pupils as well?
What matters is that students to 7-th grade will receive free of charge textbooks for the school year 2008/2009. Most of them will also enter on the first school day in renovated classrooms, will have lunch in school canteens and will travel with school buses.
Will we hear the first school bell on 15-th of September?
Thank god – yes! The government promised that from 1-st of September they will correct the standard support for one student with over 10, 6%, so if they keep their word, there won’t be any strike activities.
You are one successful woman. What should be the main cards on which one lady should invest, in order to achieve your luck?
Above all she should be able to look at things into perspective, to work hard and last, but not least – to learn from her mistakes.
You look really well, how do you manage to keep in shape?
Internal spiritual adjustment is leading in this case. Otherwise I do gymnastics, everyday I climb stairs – 45, as well as investing lots of efforts for my toilets, the hair style and the manicure, because one should always look good.
Do you like to travel?
I love traveling and I do it very often.
Which are the most interesting places that you have visited?
I gathered very strong impressions from one of my travels to Cuba, where I visited the house-museum of Hemmingway.
The other place for which I usually go back in time and remember with pleasure is Rio de Janeiro and more specifically the monument of Jesus Christ – a sightseeing that deserves to be seen.
Do you have free time and what do you usually do in this time?
My free time is from 22 to 1 at night. This is the period when I stay alone with myself and I do everything in peace and calmness – I watch the late news, I read book, I write.
What don’t people know about Mrs. Janka Takeva?
The fact that I really love people!
And what would your appeal to Bulgarian kids be?
To help people! This way and they themselves will feel better in life!
