Rossellini, in reply to a question how she is feeling about the fact that she is not young anymore. However, except these very bold expressions, she still has lots to show to the audience.

Her movie “Green porn” shocked the spectators, but it was very warmly accepted by the critics. “If I was a nag – Rossellini says, - I would have had huge eyes and would have been capable of watching up, down, back and forth at the same time. Io would have had lean body and see-through wings”. These simple words mark the beginning of 8 stories that review the sexual life of the insects. What’s worse in this case is that these creatures usually pay off for their passions with their life. However, this is not a problem for the actress and the producer that plays the role of 8 different insects in “Green porn”. In the interviews she is giving, after the movie gained some popularity, it shows that the daughter of the famous producer speaks with great delight about sex between insects. The eight series, each of which has 1 minute duration, are informative and funny as well and show many interesting details from this not so very popular theme.

Rossellini is the daughter of the Swedish cinema icon Ingrid Bergman and the Italian producer Roberto Rossellini. She is born in Rome and brought up in Paris. When she was only 13, doctors identified that she suffers from scoliosis – deformation of the backbone. In order to correct it, Isabella has been exposed to 18-month medical torturing – painful stretches surgery during which the doctors put in her backbone some parts of other bones from her body. In such a way they avoid the risk of denying those and also from the hard suffering after this intervention. Unfortunately her daughter Elektra also develops this disease, while she is still a kid.

When Isabella was 19, she moves to live in New York and starts working as a translator and reporter for the Italian TV Rai. She is not confident that she wants to live in New York, till Martin Scorsese appears, whom she marries in 1979. Their marriage lasts just 3 years and right after they divorce, she marries the German model Jon Videman /at the moment he acquires on a very high position in Microsoft/ from whom she has her daughter Elytra. Some rumors claim that Isabella has dated one of the most famous men in the world cinema, amongst which
David Lynch and Gary Oldman.

Definitely Isabella is beautiful – she ranges amongst the top 50 of the most beautiful people on the planer according to magazine People in 1990 and in 1995 and occupies number # 84 in the list of top 100 of the sexiest cinema actresses of EMPIRE magazine in 1995.

The career of a model

Her fashion career starts a little bit later –28 years after. Then she makes her first pictures for Vogue. Since then her pictures appear in the biggest fashion magazines – Marry Clair, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle. In 1998 an exhibition of her images, called a Portrait of a woman is introduced in Paris.

The top of her model career is when Isabella was chosen for an
advertising face of the cosmetic giant Lancôme in 1982. In 1990 she is included in the development of the aroma Trezor by
Lancôme. This gives her the necessary base to start the
production of her own perfume Manifesto, in collaboration with Coty Group. Despite this helpful cowork, in 1996 Isabella has been replaced from her role as advertising face of the brand for the reason that she is already too old. She gets her revenge years later, when her daughter Isabella – Eletra, is chosen for advertising face of the very same brand. According to the italian medias, Isabella`s reaction has been more than entusiactic when she learned the news that her daughter has been liked from the famous and reputable cosmetic brand.

In front her relatives she shared that no other fact, not even news for a marriage or an expected baby of Elytra, wouldn’t be capable of bringing her so much joy.

For the daughter of Roberto Rossellini and Ingrid Bergman the
arrangement between the company and Elytra is some sort of a family revenge.

Born in 1983, Elytra is the daughter of Isabella and Jon Videman. However, till now the cinema stays outside of the circle of interests of the young girl.

„there is too much cinema in my family. I like watching movies, but not to be inside them and play”, says Elytra. Years ago she starts her model career, defiling on the fashion stages of Milan and New York.
According to her opinion the most beautiful model on the world is Linda Evangelista, because “she is always capable to transform herself”.

Movie career

There is no way for Isabella to run away from her fate and that’s why she tries the challenge of the cinema when she was very little child.
Her first role is a secondary one and a movie in which she is
partnering with her mother. However, her actress career head up and develops more and more after the death o her mother. “The death suits her” /1992/, the TV miniseries Odyssey by Andrei Conchalovski is only a small portion of her successful projects. However, in the story of the cinema she will be remembered and recorded wither role in Blue velvet, with David Lynch. At this time she already has a contract with Lancôme and she is afraid if the movie eventually prevents her from keeping the contract since her role has a highlighted sexual context. But after all the movie turns out to be quite successful, she receives for her participation in it even a bigger royalty than the preliminary negotiated, as well as an award or best leading role.
According to the mean rumors say that she won’t be remembered as an actress, but mainly as a model that is doing well in the movie industry.

Outside the glory of the spotlights
Far away from the actors and models business are the thinks in which the living legend is currently involved. The charity actions in which she participates are innumerous, but we can also mention the fact that she is one o the most active fighter for the saving of our nature. She herself even educates dogs –helpers for blind people. However, her most important mission is the one of ambassador of UNICEF.

ISABELLA has three published books. The first one is autobiographical and is issued in 1997. The second that is released in 2002 also tells us the story of her life, but this time only in photographs. In 2006 is published the book In the name of the Father, the Daughter and the Holy Spirits: Remembering Roberto Rossellini, which is also, accompanied by the movie My Dad is 100 Years Old.
