Adriana Sklenаrikova

Adriana Sklenаrikova is born in 1971 in Slovakia, a country that is not “shining” with great financial wellness. Her debut in the big world of fashion happens, as she usually describes it, like a transition from black to white.
Thanks to her Slav beauty and exceptionally long legs /which won her a world record in the Book of Guinness/ very quickly she manages to attract the attention of the New York fashion agency Next and the Milan – Elite Modeling. Although her major success comes to Adriana when she is chosen for Wonder Bra Girl by the company Wonder Bra Girl, by that time she already has made a great number of advertising photo sessions.
After signing the 2-years contract with Wonder Bra, Adriana receives another business offer from the world famous company Victoria’s Secret, from which stage stars like Tyra Banks and Daniela Pestova have started their amazing career.

Adriana, hello! I have read a lot about you in our national media. You are 37 years old and you continue being on top. How long do you think that this interest in going to last?
Since many producers and fashion designers still continue getting in touch with me and I constantly have various social and fashion appointments, it means that people in these fields appreciate me and I work well. Long ago I used to think that the models` work and career end up at the age of 25 and afterwards very few of the divas have fashion projects to participate in. However, from the position of my today’s experience I know that very often I am visited by clients who intentionally are not looking for young faces, but want to trust only affirmed names. I am a total professional and a perfectionist: when it comes to working, I work till I make thinks right. I do not like taking breaks during sessions and all this kind of hanky-panky.
You conquered Guinness as the mannequin with the longest legs – 126 cm. plus you are an exclusive fashion model of Victoria’s Secret. It is impossible all this achievements not to flatter you!
Regarding the legs, if another model has longer legs, she can register them in Guinness as well. Now as to the underwear – the company has decided so and it has done so. It can only make me happy.
Do you believe in the proverb that the beauty will save the world?
Of course, it was not by as misguided chance that some time ago the company Sky Europe put on an airplane Boеing 737 a billboard of me, wearing bathing suit. The add size was 12 to 4 meters. What bigger prove than that for the validity of the above saying?
If you hadn’t become a model, what else would you do now?
I don’t know if you are familiar with the fact that I studied for doctor-dietologist in Prague, when a woman from agency “Next” met me in a supermarket one day and literally dragged me to one casting. At the beginning I thought this is all a dream, that after all this fairy tale I will go back again to my noble mission of becoming a doctor. However, it looks like the destiny has had another plan for me. Even in the first years of my model career I used to re-enroll the year that I missed, hoping that some day I will come back and finish my education. However, till today this has not happened and it will not happen from now on either.
If you have a sister or a daughter, would you help her start in this business?
Our business is glamorous, but extremely difficult. I wonder how little girls at 14 – 15 years-old manage to deal with it and succeed. Even from the very beginning our glory life offers us a lot of challenges to which you need to resist in order to keep the ball rolling and stay amongst the best. If after a time my daughter decided that she wants to follow my way and take my example, well, as she wishes – I would not stop her.
Last question. It is for Karembeu, of course. What happened with him?
Both, I and he are very busy. Everyone has its own way; although our paths may cross some day.
