Jean-Luc Amsler gets his inspiration from the movie “E. T.”
Hello, Jean-Luc Amsler! I’m so glad to see you again, how do you feel five years after we last met?
I feel very good, even wiser.
What’s your new collection like?
It’s an haute couture collection, I will present the next one in July, during the Paris Fashion week and that’s the first step of my new appearance.
What made you choose the Swiss Ambassy for a presentation?
First of all I’m a Swiss, this is a very classy, baroque place and my collection is futuristic, the obtained interaction is like In and Yan.
It’s a very interesting collection, where did you get your inspiration from?
A part of the concept came from the movie “E. T.”, a part – from Helmut Newton photographs, the mixture between both of them.
Which are your favourite models?
For me it doesn’t make a difference if the models are famous or not, I don’t have favourite models, the names I’ ve chosen are completely unknown, but perfect.
You’re very popular in Bulgaria but your clothing can’t be found. That’s why I invite you to the Albena Fashion Fiesta 2008, starting from June 17th.
Yes, and I’ll make it this time! No problem! You do the fashion week there, right?
This time, I promise, I’ll be there.
Why did you exchange the favourite T-shirt you used to go on stage with, for a suit?
Oh, that was long ago.
You have a very classic look now.
No, I’m wearing jeans under the skirt, plus you could tell I’m old.
Which are next winter’s trends?
For me, the silhоuette will be very architectural, following the body lines, bulky shoulders, black, dark attire. That black is very beautiful, there is something mystical about it, something unreal.
And what about your favourite silver?
It’s a light colour but it looks good combined with black.
And where did your favourite red go?
Yes, red always remains my favourite colour. In this collection there is just a touch of red. I love red, it’s the colour of pleasure.
When are your next defiles?
In July and October and you, Mariana, are invited.
What would you wish to our readers?
Be constructive, creative, enjoy life and you’ll be successful!
