Eli Saab:
The colors and the sculptures` forms are the main ingredients of my collection
We go to the Luvre for the review of Eli Saab. 3 checkpoints were checking with metal detectors all the guests, journalists, VIP persons. Each and every one of the invitees had strictly specified place in the huge hall. There were also lots of standing people, but it seemed that they do not notice this at all. The hall was full to the maximum and we all were waiting for the big beginning.
And it was stylish, massive and of course, real! Absolutely normally everything was decided as one big contrast in black and white, during the day and the night. “The colors and the sculpture shapes are the main ingredients of my collection”, Eli Saab will say a little bit later.
What does the fashion mean to you?
The fashion is the beauty of the woman and I have always tried to make women more attractive and different with the clothes I design.
Every designer gets his muse and inspiration from various places. Do you have such a muse that drives your creativity?
Every woman can be my muse!
Do you have preferred models to work with?
We did a really good casting and I think that we made a good choice.
You became popular in 2002 when Holly Berry with triumph success attracted all the eyes towards her toilet, designer by you, on the ceremony for granting the Oscars. Since when till now the royalty persons and famous people are searching for your models. Is this flattering to you?
This is the recognition of my work. Several years ago I was wondering whether to choose the vocation of design or something else. It turned out that I have made the right choice.
How is own of your work days passing by?
I am a workaholic and I work a lot, I have arrangements, I work in the factory, during the whole day I do million things. I get up very early in the morning and I go to bed late in the evening. Apparently this is the success formula.
You are very popular in Bulgaria. Tell something to the fashion fans in our country. What should they wear in the next winter?
I use black, white, green, blue, exactly in the stylistics of the 70s. this is the world tendency at the moment.
