90% of the problems are invented by people
We met the best selling foreign writer in Bulgaria during the review of Eli Saab at the World Fashion week in Paris. First we noticed Adriana Sklenarikova that has arrived to the event with a middle-aged man. We also didn’t miss the opportunity to interview him as well, but after the review. From the picture we recognized that next to her is standing the world famous writer Paulo Coelho. The show begins and everyone was like enchanted by so much beauty, demonstrated by Saab.
Mr. Coelho, we meet at Eli Saab review. Are you a fan of the world fashion?
Of course! After I am here, it means that I am connected in some way and it does not happen by chance. But it is not only and not so much the fashion that brings me here, but also my friendship with Eli Saab. He is unique and always different. His shows are amazing every single time.
You have worked in a music records company and now you are writing books. How did it all happen?
I and my wife started traveling in 1986. We walked the whole way of Santiago, old route between France and Spain that is 800 km. long. We got to Santiago de Kompostela where are kept the relics of apostol Iakov Zevedeev who is called Santiago later, the guardian of Spain. I described this travel in my first book.
Do you know that you are the best selling author in Bulgaria? Is this fact flattering for you?
I really like Bulgaria, your culture, people here are very good-natured. Of course, these things make me happy. My book “The alchemic” is announced for the best selling Portuguese book of all times. But to me what matters are not the issues sold, but whether I will be able to touch people’s hearts, because I believe that every person has its own little universe in him.
What happens when a person like you finds realization in the field he has always wanted to and dreamed of? Where is the next adventure going to take you to?
My dream was to become an author. I became such. So you are on the road to making your dream come true, the matter is to keep on moving forward, to overtake the difficulties. One person dreams of a house, another one – for travels, but it is not a matter of material things, but for the road, the road of life. The dreams – this is the road of your existence and you not think abstractly.
What is real – the freedom of choice or there is fate and everything happens for predestined higher reason?
From his birth a person has a free will to choose. I am convinced that 90% of the problems are made up by us. In a certain moment you are following your road, you are going to the line of your life and this is the main excuse, the main reason for your existence. And always you will have in front of you the open door of the opportunity to choose your life road, drawn from the fate.
